Alexandra Kuhle is from Southern California and currently a sophomore in the Journalism school at the University of Oregon. Alexandra’s concentration is on advertising with a minor in digital arts. She plans to one day work for a graphic design firm. This project will help her develop skills of designing. Group One’s topic, corporate sponsorship, relates to Alexandra because Nike is a prominent and controversial corporate sponsor for many years at the U of O which effects her as a current student. blog link: gateway1and2blog

Matthew Casey is an advertising student at the University of Oregon. Working with the school of Journalism and Communication, as well as the Lundquist College of Business he has seen the effects of corporate sponsorship on campus life firsthand. With the always-generous booster Phil Knight, looming close to all campus affairs he sees a great example of the effects of large corporate lending on a daily basis. Kristin Zimber is a sophomore at the University of Oregon. Kristin is originally from Portland Oregon, and is majoring in public relations.  Phil Knight is a large sponsor at the University of Oregon for athletic funding. Through all of this athletic funding the U of O may be more desired than other Oregon universities.  Kristin will look into the overall corporate sponsorship at the University of Oregon. Zac Brown, a junior studying public relations at the University of Oregon, believes corporate sponsorship is vital for the university to succeed financially.  However, as a student who is surrounded by many sponsors on campus, Zac also feels the influence of certain sponsors have clouded the minds of university officials. From this blog, Zac hopes to raise awareness of the many effects corporate sponsors have on the University of Oregon.
